Dr. Cory Thiele was born and raised in Sioux City, IA. He was a former collegiate athlete, graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelors of Science in Biology, and then attended the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
It was during his time at the University of Iowa where he first realized chiropractic was the field he would ultimately pursue. After experiencing a sports related injury he began having severe lower back pain and sciatica (pain and numbness) into his right leg. Activities became difficult and sports were not an option due to the pain. After one visit to the chiropractor the pain reduced substantially. Subsequent adjustments eliminated the pain, improved range of motion, and got him back on the field.
Dr. Thiele practiced in Washington and Oregon before he and his wife, Jill, decided to move back to the Midwest to be closer to family as they started their own. They landed in Rockford, IL and added two daughters, Jocelyn and Sophia, to go along with their pets, Magni (dog) and Widget (cat).
Dr. Thiele has had the privilege of working with numerous professional athletes in multiple sports: hockey, soccer, baseball, bowling, and lacrosse. While he has an interest in working with athletes, ranging from Olympians to weekend warriors, he primarily cares for entire families. His youngest patient was 10 hours old and his oldest was 97 years old.
Dr. Thiele wants his patients to not only feel better but to also become healthier. This is why he has done extensive coursework and continually reads up on wellness topics. By teaching his patients how to maximize their health potential through chiropractic care, proper nutrition, exercise, and stress management they can improve their health and well being and start living the life they deserve.
In 2014, Jill and Dr. Thiele decided it was time to come home to Iowa and he started Thiele Chiropractic & Wellness in West Des Moines. Since opening the office he has had the opportunity to meet and help some great people in the community and enjoys presenting health and wellness topics to local companies. As a fan of soccer he has enjoyed working as the team chiropractor with the Des Moines Menace soccer teams.
In April of 2016 the Thiele family was blessed with a baby boy, Ryker. (Finally a boy!)
Dr. Thiele spends his time away from the office with family and friends, playing soccer and golf, and being outdoors (hiking and camping).
